Towards open access internet infrastructure: Announcing Ramo Computer

Ramo Computer, launched today at ramo.computer, is a software tool enabling users across all scales—from individual consumers to enterprise operators—to allocate and utilize hardware resources on decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs).

What are DePINs?

DePINs represent systems where physical assets like data storage, computing capacity, and networking infrastructure operate through decentralized coordination using blockchain technology. This approach distributes authority across network participants rather than centralizing it, improving scalability and resilience while decreasing expenses.

Democratizing Access

Ramo Computer users function as primary participants in the Ramo Network. The platform enables simultaneous participation across multiple aggregated DePINs. Previously complex activities—such as managing Filecoin storage operations—now operate on standard consumer equipment, democratizing access to networks like Filecoin for broader audiences.

The Centralized Cloud Problem

The centralized cloud sector remains dominated by several large corporations offering convenience and competitive pricing. Web3 protocols function as equivalent alternatives, designed for specific use cases with protocol-specific incentive structures and validation systems. However, these protocols remain infrastructure-agnostic, welcoming various resource providers capable of executing specified workloads.

Lowering Barriers

Reducing participation barriers for decentralized network providers represents a critical strategy for transitioning away from proprietary cloud solutions toward open compute protocols. Ramo Computer substantially lowers complexity and increases accessibility, enabling growing numbers of compute protocols to operate on broader, more performant infrastructure networks.

Monetize Your Hardware

Through Ramo Computer, users can provide storage or compute resources to major open-access networks. Hardware owners gain opportunities to monetize equipment by committing storage drives and computational circuits while accumulating profits efficiently.

The Ramo network orchestrates workloads from multiple DePINs simultaneously. Storage clients seeking tamper-proof, efficient S3-compatible capacity can register interest at use.ramo.computer.
